About Us

Candace McKim, BSW, IYT, YCS, YIA

Candace McKim has been aware of yoga her entire life; yoga postures were done on the front lawn. At 13 years old she was taught and began her daily practice of Transcendental Meditation. Consciousness encouraged her to become vegetarian and along with extensive travelling she gravitated into the Helping Field of Social Work.

A strong desire to be at home with her children took her out of a Government Social Work career and into self-employment as a Yoga Therapist. Along with almost two decades of experience teaching yoga, Candace holds certification in Integrated Yoga Therapy, Chakra Therapy, Yoga for Cancer Survivors, is a Senior Leader with Off the Mat Into the World and a Spiritual Activist to END human and sex trafficking.

Candace lives in Alberta, Canada on an acreage with her loving husband, Daren and aging dog, Coal. Her three children, Forrester, Chloe and Jenkins are all living full lives. As newly empty nesters, Candace and Daren enjoy time in nature kayaking, hiking, skiing and camping as well as travelling and celebrating with good friends and family.

After raising $20,000 for victims of sex trafficking in India, Candace travelled to bare witness to the oppression of women and the remarkable work the organizations she was supporting is doing. Candace was given an opportunity to talk with facilitators, visit red light districts, as well, meet many of the beautiful rescued souls themselves.

Continuing on Spiritual Pilgrimage of India, Goddesses and the 64 Yoginis, Candace met herself to open even more to living her life purpose. Candace sold her studio and eliminated teaching weekly yoga classes, finding space to write her book Yogini’s Guide – Intuition Is A Choice and complete Yogini’s Guide to Intuition Oracle Cards.

Candace’s life work is in support of The Woman who is trying to be everything to everyone, hoping her life looks beautifully perfect. On the inside this Woman feels something is missing, she yearns for connection. As she hears the voice of her intuition she fears stepping wholly into her purpose and femininity, afraid of ridicule, confrontation and loss of security.

Through interactive workshops, inspirational talks, personal counselling, retreats, and her book, Candace guides you to identify your path, supporting you to courageously stay connected to your intuition and value your feminine power. What is Yogini?
